The inaugural ‘Lunch for the Lads’ was organised by Major League Corporate Marketing and held on Friday the 25th of May at ‘The Strand’ – Queensland Rugby Club. The lunch was attended by over 200 guests who were there to raise awareness for prostate cancer and also celebrate the launch of the ‘David Fordham Junior Sports’ award. Prostate Screen Australia was a sponsor of the event and Medical Director, Dr Peter Swindle spoke about prostate cancer and prostate cancer testing.
The lunch was MC’d by Seven News host Patrick Walsh and included special guests: Michael Hancock, Dan Crowley and Nikki Hudson.
There was a great range of raffle item available including a Reds signed jersey, aV8 Supercar money-can’t-buy experience and a game fishing experience. All proceeds from the day went to a great cause: the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA).
The next Lunch for the Lads will be held in November 2012 at Victoria Park Golf Course.
